When he got out of the car, one of the first things he said was that he loved Norway.

– I came here out of gratitude for the Norwegian people’s support for electric vehicles. So I want to say thank you for the Norwegians’ support for sustainable transport over many years, he told the press conference outside the Clarion Hotel Energy.

Thanks to American Jack Sweeney, who is known for creating Twitter bots to track the private jets of prominent people, including Elon Musk and Russian oligarchs, the most ardent Musk fans were able to follow his short ten-hour flight from Los Angeles to Sola on Flightradar24.

Opens MON at 11am

Musk’s private jet is a Gulfstream G650 – a business jet manufactured by Gulfstream Aerospace. The plane can carry from 11 to 18 passengers, depending on how it is designed and built inside. The aircraft has a top speed of 982 kilometers per hour with a cruising speed of 956 kilometers per hour.

Shortly after landing at Stavanger Airport, Sola, Musk and his team entered some waiting cars that transported them directly to the ONS fair in Tjensvoll, where Musk will participate in the opening conference at 11.00 along with, among others, Equinor CEO Anders Opedal, IEA director Fatih Birol, Shell CEO Ben van Beurden and Crown Prince Haakon. The session is packed – and there is also a limited number of members of the press who get access. The ticket to the opening conference costs NOK 16,000.

Musk, who heads Tesla and Spacex, is on track to be the world’s richest man with a fortune of over $200 billion. The 51-year-old is originally from South Africa, but also has citizenship in the USA and Canada.

Tweeted about fasting

Musk is known for being very active on Twitter and his messages there can quickly affect the stock market price of the companies he mentions, which shows his enormous power. Musk now has over 103 million followers on Twitter. Just before leaving for Stavanger and ONS, Musk posted four messages on his Twitter account where he writes that he fasts for periods and feels healthier and better after starting to do so.

“From time to time I want to share things on this account that seem to be good for me and my life – and which can therefore also benefit others. You are also welcome to share your experiences and which can thus be of help to others,” writes Musk, who also reveals that it was a good friend of his who came up with the advice to fast for periods.

How long will he stay in town?

It is highly uncertain how long Musk will stay in Stavanger. Some rumors say that he will fly on as early as this afternoon/evening, while others believe that he will first experience some of what the region has to offer before he flies on tomorrow. Not even the organizer ONS is informed of all the details in connection with Musk’s visit.

– Musk has a separate team with him that manages this, says director of communications at ONS, Inger Johanne Stenberg, to Aftenbladet.
