The win was Aston Villa’s first in the league in 2024.
Unai Emery’s men started the year with a 0-0 draw against Everton and a 1-3 loss to Newcastle. The rise in Sheffield took Villa up to 46 points, and that is good for 4th place after this weekend’s round.
Sheffield United are hopelessly at the bottom of the Premier League table. The promotion team has picked up ten points from 23 games, and that is the same number of points as it separates them from a safe place.
