THW Kiel player Sander Sagosen (26) landed incorrectly and had great pain in his left leg during the Bundesliga match against HSV Hamburg. Then he was transported off the field supported by two people.

According to Kiel Nachrichten, Sagosen was taken straight to hospital after the incident and that the club suspects a “serious injury”. They state that it appears to be “utopian”, ie very unlikely, that Sagosen will play the rest of the important end of the season.

It was after eight minutes that things went very wrong for Sagosen. In a Kiel attack, the 26-year-old took the lead and ended up with his left leg in the wrong position as he landed after passing the ball.
The 26-year-old lay for a long time, holding on to his leg and shaking his head, while the TV cameras caught him screaming in pain.

Teammates flocked to help. Eventually, Sagosen was helped up and supported out of the hall by two people, while the audience clapped rhythmically to support him.

Now the question of an extremely important seasonal incentive is rising for Sagosen. One thing is the remaining matches in this year’s league game in Germany.
Far more important for Sagosen is the Champions League play-offs on 18 and 19 June.

THW Kiel will meet Barcelona in the semi-finals in just two weeks. Victory there gives a final place against either Hungarian Telekom Veszprém or Polish Lomza Vive Kielce.
