Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore the dress during the official dinner that marked the opening of the National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design earlier this year.
Special dress
The dress was designed for the occasion by Norwegian Peter Dundas and the dress’s woven fabric is made by the Aurora workshop in Bærum, which is a working community of artists with and without disabilities.

Star designer
Peter Dundas has made a strong mark in the international fashion industry for many years, he has worked as chief designer for luxury fashion houses such as Emilio Pucci and Roberto Cavalli.
He has also designed several dresses for both Crown Princess Mette-Marit and international stars, including Kim Kardashian, in the past. At the National Museum, several of the dresses that Norwegian Dundas has designed for international stars are already on display, among them the dress that Kim Kardashian wore during the Met Gala in 2015, and one of Michelle Obama’s dresses. According to NRK, the director of the national museum cannot praise Dundas enough:
– It is a wonderful gift. This is a unique piece of Norwegian fashion history, says director Karin Hindsbo.
