At 19.44, Thursday evening, the police report that the emergency services have set course for Liegata in Skien, where a boy has been hit by a car.

The police operations manager states that the boy is awake, but that he is in pain. The extent of the boy’s injuries is not yet known.

The boy was taken away by ambulance. The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, has had his driving license confiscated.

TA’s photographer at the scene reports that the boy is being treated by health personnel at the scene, and that he was then placed on a stretcher. Our photographer is informed that the boy will be 11 years old.

It is not yet known what the sequence of events behind the accident is, but the accident is said to have occurred at a footpath on the site, and from what TA’s dispatcher can see, the boy should have been carrying a bicycle when the accident occurred.

The police have seized this bicycle.

The incident happened at the intersection Liegata/Holbergs gate, and it led to traffic problems on Thursday evening.

TA’s photographer was initially able to state that long queues had formed at the site, but that these later began to dissolve when the car involved was moved from the carriageway.
