On Monday, the police allegedly had a car chase after a motorcyclist. This must have taken place in the area between Lilleby and Rotvoll, according to Adresseavisen.

It is described to the newspaper that the motorcyclist must have been driving at high speed, including on a cycle path. The police must have followed the motorcyclist along the cycle path.

At 1.50pm there are several police cars in the area between Rotvoll station and Rotvollfjæra.

There must have been an accident here. A large area has been cordoned off following the incident.

In a press release, the police confirm that this is a fatal accident, and that it must have happened after the motorcyclist drove off the road.

The driver was confirmed dead at the scene. The police are still working to identify the person in question, but say that it is a man.

Due to the motorcyclist’s traffic behaviour, the police became aware of the driver ahead of the accident, the police write in the press release.

The Bureau for Police Affairs is routinely notified of the incident, and it is up to the Bureau to assess the course of the accident.

The police further write in the press release, which was sent at 2.18 p.m., that they currently have nothing more to report and refer to the fact that the Bureau has been briefed on the case.

They were notified of the incident at 12.45.

According to the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, there was an accident at the site, which they received at 12.57. They state that the road past the area is closed.

The Norwegian Public Roads Administration’s accident team and crime technicians from the police are on the scene.

By 2.10pm, Nidaros had not been able to get in touch with the police operations centre.
