Prince Sverre Magnus is absent from the Palace Balcony

--

Next Friday, bunads, party costumes and other finery will once again be allowed to shine on the national day. Champagne breakfast, flag raising, ice cream, trains and family time are high on the priority list for many, while for some it is tradition to wave to the royal family on the palace balcony in the capital.

Reveals his great passion

For others, the national day is started by walking past the crown prince’s family at Skaugum.

This year, however, one person will be missing both on the stairs outside the Crown Prince’s family home, and on the Palace Balcony.

– Prince Sverre Magnus is drunk, and will therefore shine with his absence on the balcony on 17 May this year. The same applies at Skaugum when the crown prince’s family will greet the children’s train there in the morning, says Se og Hør’s royal house expert Caroline Vagle about the prince’s absence.

According to Vagle, this is completely in line with how both his sister and father – and grandfather – did when they were drunk.

Princess Ingrid Alexandra (20) was known to be drunk last year, but she is currently serving her first service at the military camp Skjold in Brigade Nord in Indre Troms.

– On the other hand, it looks like the elder sister has a perm from the military. Because she is listed in the calendar on the national day, together with her parents and grandparents, says Vagle.
