Here are this year’s door openers – Trondheim municipality

On Wednesday 24 April, the prize for “Door Opener of the Year” was awarded in two categories. The award ceremony was held in Trondheim Town Hall, with the mayor, Kent Ranum, and director of tourism in Trondheim, Kirsten Schultz, as hosts. SpareBank 1 SMN is a partner for the event.

Congresses and event tourism contribute to lasting values ​​and valuable reputation building for Trondheim and the Trondheim region. The award “Door Opener of the Year” is awarded to zealots and
individuals who, through their unique commitment to their professional environment and/or event, contribute to putting Trondheim on the map, nationally and internationally.

It was a surprised Berit Rian received the award in the Event category. She is the outgoing CEO. in the Business Association in the Trondheim region and was herself represented on the jury, but was unaware that she too had been nominated for the prize in the Event category.

The jury’s reasoning states, among other things: “Berit Rian is good at highlighting and honoring other talented initiators and implementers in the region, and has himself awarded a number of awards to others. It couldn’t have been more correct than that she herself could be the recipient of the Door Opener of the Year when she now resigns after 16 years of effort for the best of the region”.

Bathen is a door opener towards its international network. Tone Frost Bathen, professor of medicine at NTNU – Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, received the award in the Professional environment category.

About Bathen, the jury’s reasoning says, among other things: “She is a door opener
towards her international network, where over the past 25 years she has acquired a good professional network within MR imaging and metabolomics, as well as relevant medical environments at our international universities and university hospitals. She organized a national network meeting regarding breast cancer (National network for breast cancer research) in Trondheim in April 2023, and was responsible for the conference The 3rd Nordic Metabolomics Conference 2023 – MR – ISB – NTNU, at Scandic Nidelven in October 2023″.

This year’s jury consisted of: Kent Ranum, mayor of Trondheim Municipality, Liv Melleby, bank manager Private Banking Sparebank 1 SMN, Kirsten Schultz, general manager of Trondheim Management and director of tourism in Trondheim, Berit Rian, managing director of the Business Association in the Trondheim region.
