– I can confirm that there was an incident of violence yesterday afternoon around 1630, says the principal to VG.

The headmaster has been hospitalized following the violent incident to which he was exposed.

– I feel better now. I am well followed up by the hospital staff and the education agency, says the principal.

The Norwegian Education Agency’s division director Peter Hagen writes to VG that the case has been reported.

– A principal at one of our schools was subjected to a violent attack yesterday afternoon. The police arrived at the scene and the incident has been reported to the police. He was not attacked at school, or by a student at his own school, he says.

Police prosecutor Ingrid Hærem tells the newspaper that they are investigating the case.

– It involves an adult person associated with a school in the area, and a minor boy who is associated with another school, she tells Aftenposten.

The incident comes a few days after Sylvi Listhaug’s (Frp) campaign about violence in schools.

– The bullies should not be allowed to rule school life and terrorize teachers and other students. We must give power back to the teachers. Being exposed to violence is not acceptable, she told VG on Monday.

According to her, teachers are the third most exposed group to violence and threats in working life.

– Good teachers are leaving, and this will be a big problem that will again affect the quality of the school, said the FrP leader.

The case is updated.
