As a trail cyclist, you can almost stop the clock after one event:
When it’s Cruxjam in Fredrikstad, then the season is underway.
Gresvik IF Trail cyclists once again invite you to a festival starting in Trondalen and Gresvikmarka outside Fredrikstad.
– The feedback we received last year was that we have managed to maintain the style, quality and size that the festival has always had, so there is little point in changing much of a winning recipe. So there won’t be a big revolution.
This is what Ole Henrik Illenberger Solgaard from the organizer of Terrengsykkel tells us. However, he has one message:
– We have tried to become a little better at marketing that this is not just a crux jam and competition. It is, after all, a trail festival. I think several people have realized that too. You just have to come and take part, you don’t have to take part in the competition. We have several guided tours and social arrangements, says Solgaard.

Because in addition to the infamous Cruxjamen, there are several guided tours in the area that you can join.
– We have increased the capacity a little on these trips, we saw that there was such a good turnout last year that there was a need for it. We try to have a range in the selection of trips, there is a turbo trip, cruxe trip, girl’s trip, and there will be an undomestic crux competition for the slightly younger ones on Saturday, he says.
Crux is a term used by both trail cyclists and climbers, and is used as a designation for a particularly difficult and/or decisive point on a path or a climbing route.
Still prestige
It will be Cruxjam – and Solgaard says that the most enthusiastic cruxers will have something to sharpen their skills on this year as well.
– Some of the crux are quite spin crazy. We have received some feedback that it was a bit for difficult, but this shouldn’t be super easy either. It’s a bit strange, and the crux is difficult. Now we’ve got two types of bikes too, so we have our own electric bike class.
The dates are therefore 26-28. April.
The Cruxjamen has been organized for a number of years. Pål Valbjørk, who is also involved in organizing, has sent some photos from ten years ago, when a young Brage Vestavik was also involved:

It is free to participate, or NOK 50 if you want to have lunch in the forest. There is a lot that starts to cost people a day, so we try to keep costs down, says Solgaard.
