It became clear during the party’s annual meeting at Nord-Norge house in Bergen on Saturday evening.
– It is very nice and a great honor that Bergen Venstre wants to give me the confidence to lead the party in the coming year. Venstre has the solutions the city needs and we will develop even more forward-looking policies, so that Bergen will be even better for all Bergen residents, says the new party leader in a press release.
At the same time that he takes over the helm of the Bergen party, Johanson makes a jab in Meyer’s direction.
– Christine Meyer’s city council shows why the Liberal Party should rule the city. Safe and responsible management of the city is important, and it is difficult to imagine what the current city council wants to achieve, says Johanson ten BA.
He is ready for what will be important for Bergen Venstre in the future.
– The most important thing is to get one hand on the wheel and to be able to steer. The left is needed to ensure further development of the light rail and a sustainable urban development where we play as a team with the business world, he states.
The new party leader has experience as a deputy and board member in Bergen Venstre, and has held a number of positions in the youth party. He is currently taking a doctorate in medicine at the University of Bergen.
– There will be no plagiarism in the thesis, I can promise that, concludes Johanson.
