The decision was made against four votes when the matter was considered in the municipal council on Thursday. It was HalsaLista that put forward the proposal that the municipality should not proceed as the matter stands today.
Helseplattformen AS is owned by Helse Midt-Norge RHF and Trondheim municipality and eventually the municipalities that buy into the company. The company will ensure the acquisition and introduction of a new joint patient record system at hospitals, in municipalities, at GPs and private specialists in Trøndelag and Møre og Romsdal.
In 2019, the health platform entered into an agreement with the company Epic, which will deliver the record solution itself. The health platform will provide increased quality in patient treatment, better patient safety, a more user-friendly system and enable health personnel to perform their tasks in a better and more efficient way.
October 2024
Heim municipality has previously signed an option agreement with the Health Platform, like all municipalities in central Norway. The municipalities have the opportunity to become owners of Helseplattformen AS as they exercise their option.
Heim is scheduled to adopt the journal system in October 2024. If the municipalities adopt it, Smøla, Averøy, Aure, Surnadal, Tingvoll, Sunndal and Gjemnes will also adopt the system in October 2024.

Supervision and attention
The solution was introduced at St. Olav’s Hospital on 12 November 2022. The introduction at St. Olav’s Hospital has been the subject of great attention both before and after production. Inspections have been carried out by the State Administrator and the Health Inspectorate.
The National Audit Office will also carry out an audit together with the control committee in Trondheim municipality. There has been great unrest connected to the project over time. In particular, this has been linked to the situation at St. Olav’s hospital. Management has acknowledged critical errors and deficiencies in the system. Based on this, the board of the Health Platform is recommended to postpone the introduction for Health Nord-Trøndelag.
