– Based on the information that has come to light, this is starting to look like a complete scandal. This goes beyond the students who have worked hard to take the exam, says the Progress Party’s school policy spokesperson Himanshu Gulati.

The computer problems meant that students could not log in to the exam website. The problems were solved in the morning.

According to Gulati, some students got to see the assignment before the exam was postponed for an hour and a half.

– We also know that some schools were not given permission to print exam papers when the IT problems were a fact, while other schools printed the papers. It is therefore important that Education Minister Tonje Brenna (Ap) explains what has actually happened, says Gulati.

Ap: – Typical Frp

The Labor Party responds to the FRP by reminding them of who has been in the breach for digital exams.

– It is a bit typical of the FRP to shirk responsibility. Digital exams have been promoted over many years by the bourgeois government of which the FRP was a part and later the supporting party, says Elise Waagen, education policy spokesperson for the Labor Party.

Brenna has asked the Directorate of Education to explain the matter and find out how it can be avoided.

– That report is now ready, and Gulati should probably read it before he asks the minister to come to the Storting. On Tuesday, Venstre’s Abid Raja praised the minister of knowledge in the Storting for acting quickly when the computer systems were messed up, so the bourgeois parties are not quite in agreement with themselves, says Waagen.

SV impatient about the new examination system

The Socialist Left Party also believes that the exam chaos should lead to change. They believe that the case shows that the current exam form is out of date.

– The exam chaos has shown that the current exam format is far too vulnerable and should be scrapped. We think Tonje Brenna should rather introduce new ways of assessing what students have learned through 13 years of schooling, says Grete Wold, education policy spokesperson in SV.

In a written question, Wold asks to know the status of the decision on testing alternative examination arrangements.

– I am worried that the problems with the exam are not taken seriously enough, she says.

Brenna has previously said that the case must be followed up, and that students must be confident that mistakes will not occur.
