What is Google thinking about now this autumn?

At Tek you will find cases with advertisement links, where you can either buy the products we have mentioned or compare prices. We believe this is relevant information for our readers.

Which products Tek will write about, and what we will write about them, is chosen by the journalists and no one else. But it is also important that you know that if you click on such an ad link for price comparison at Prisjakt, or buy a product after clicking through to a store from one of our articles, Tek makes money. These advertisement links are always marked with “ad link”.

It is important to emphasize that when we mention products at Tek, it is because we think it is journalistically interesting. No one can buy publicity in our cases.

In tests or product guides, the main rule in VG is that we buy or borrow the product. If it is not practically possible, we base the review on product samples we have been sent. If so, we will inform you about which product and why.

Something is going to happen on October 6.

Google is gearing up for a release of new devices on October 6. We have even received an invitation to team up somewhere in Oslo, but exactly what they are going to launch here in Norway they have not been very open about.

The graphics that have appeared at, among others, Elkjøp and Telia to create hype about the launch, we are not really wise about either. A picture frame can have something to do with photography, possibly with a mobile camera?

On the other hand, this can also symbolize a digital picture frame, for example in the form of the Nest Hub Max, or the long-rumored Pixel Tablet.

It could also stand for something completely different, so let’s look at what Google itself says about its international launch.

Before the summer, Google could confirm that they were finally on the field with a smartwatch – a Pixel Watch. They also announced that this would be released during the autumn, and then preferably together with new smartphones in the form of Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.

And this is exactly what will be launched on October 6. Of the details, we only know that the Pixel 7 models will run Android 13 and have the next generation of Google’s own Tensor processor, while they have borrowed expertise from Fitbit to really make the Pixel Watch something for fitness and health.

Also, they just released a video that points out some of the design choices.

But just as interesting is whether the Pixel products will actually be officially launched in Norway this time.

After all, the mobile phone is now in its seventh generation, but until now it has not been possible to get hold of it here in Norway in the usual way.

As usual, Google has been modest with information, without saying anything other than that they have no information about this right now.

At least what we are pretty sure of is that even we here on the mountain will be able to get something new in the smart home category.

We then of course think of Nest-branded products – where it could be a new speaker, a larger hub, a new doorbell, a new camera or a more powerful wireless router.

The latter has at least already had its own rumor article, and if this were to be true, we will certainly get products with W-Fi 6E, which is the “new and hot” thing in wireless technology right now.

Otherwise, we mention that the handsome and smart smoke detector Nest Protect has been “second generation” for over seven years now, but to be honest, we’re not sure what can easily be improved on it – if it can’t then be made a notch smarter without becoming less certain.

Regardless, we’re patiently waiting for whatever launches on October 6th.
