Quick Style had their big breakthrough when they won “Norske Talenter” 13 years ago. Since then, Nasir Sirikhan and twins Bilal and Suleman Malik have traveled the world, become world champions in hip-hop and started their own dance school.

– Norske Talenter was our biggest door opener. It was our confirmation that we could actually pursue a dance career. There is a doubt at that age, whether you should invest in school or not, so we took a big risk, says Bilal, who was 17 at the time.

– It is also what you turn it into. We are still standing and working. That is a big part of it, Suleman continues.

Was surprised on the wedding day

There is no doubt that dance is a big part of the brothers’ lives. When Suleman got married this summer, it was therefore natural for Bilal to perform with the rest of Quick Style.

This despite the fact that Suleman wanted a small and quiet wedding.

– He didn’t want so many people there, and he wanted to keep it as small as possible. It was his demand before we started this here, says Bilal.

– I knew nothing. Many of these songs the guys have used are songs I’ve listened to a lot. So they really surprised me. There was a lot of love and everyone was there. It is the best gift I have ever received, says the newly married dancer.

After the wedding, parts of the moment were posted on TikTok. A short time later, the video went viral, and the twelve-minute long dance was posted on YouTube.

– We have calculated it and the dance has a total of over 240 million views, says Bilal, before Suleman continues:

– The key here is that there was so much love in it. The world felt it.

Big stars like Jason Derulo have also picked up the dance and made their own version of it on TikTok.

– It’s absolutely sick! It’s hard to tell about the feelings around it, because when something goes viral it kind of doesn’t become yours anymore. It just goes away by itself.

On stage with Karpe

Also here at home in Norway, the dance crew is getting a lot of attention these days. In addition to their victory streak on social media, they dance during Karpe’s ten concerts in Oslo Spektrum.

– If we could have chosen between all the artists in the whole world to work with, it would have been Karpe. For us, they are not just artists. They are messengers at a high level. They develop culture, they implement so much more than just music, and we see that in Spektrum. All those who come out of it get so much more than just music.

When Quick Style first received the order from their good friends, they were in for a surprise. Karpe did not want only professional dancers, which Bilal and Suleman admit was challenging.

– It is easier for us to create an advanced choreography with lots of movement, but here they ask about non-dancers. They wanted plumbers and footballers, and imagine that – footballers don’t have rhythm, says Bilal with a laugh.

– How have they managed?

– Fantastic! For me, seeing them pull it off is a huge success. That is what is the best of all and makes the show beautiful, says Suleman and adds:

– If we had only had professional dancers on stage, it would not have been perfect. Having that mix makes it perfect.
