Donald Trump calls Robert F. Kennedy Jr. “the dumbest of the Kennedy clan”

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (70), son of former Justice Minister Robert “Bobby” F. Kennedy and nephew of former President John F. Kennedy, is running as an independent candidate for this year’s presidential election in the United States.

In the polls so far, he is likely to get between eight and ten percent of the vote. President Joe Biden, who is the Democratic candidate, and former President Donald Trump, who is the Republican candidate, have both received around 40 percent in the surveys so far.

There is therefore little chance that RFK Jr. wins the presidential election, but since it is so evenly split between the other two, it is crucial who Kennedy steals voters from.

He first tried to run as a candidate for the Democrats, and has been called a “radical left-wing fool” by Trump, particularly because of his views on climate change. At the same time, he is a vaccine opponent and now he has started to appear more and more on conservative TV channels and podcasts. That worries the Trump camp, writes Newsweek.

“The dumbest of the Kennedy clan”

It may seem to have affected Trump as well. In a post on his social medium Truth Social, he calls RFK Jr. “the dumbest of the Kennedy clan”.

“It’s too bad that FoxNews puts RFK Jr., considered the dumbest member of the Kennedy clan, on their rather conservative platform so much. Competitive networks want nothing to do with him. He is a radical left-wing lunatic whose crazy opinions on climate change make the Democrats’ green new scam look conservative,” he writes and continues:

“He’s also doing poorly in the polls, eight percent at best, but says he’s doing well against Crooked Joe (Joe Biden, journ. note) and me, one on one. WRONG, he gets knocked down in his boots!”

He ends the post by warning Republicans not to waste their precious vote on Kennedy Jr., but says he is likely to hurt Joe Biden more than himself.

Biden as common enemy

And exactly that is nothing new.

Last month, an election campaign worker for RFK caused a stir after she was filmed in a leaked video telling voters at an event in New York that Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s goal is to “get rid of Biden” in order to get inducted Donald Trump.

After she makes sure in the video that there are no “Biden voters” present, the employee says that voters who get RFK on the ballot will help get Joe Biden out of the White House.

Even RFK Jr. written on X that the Trump camp had contacted him to see if he would be Trump’s vice presidential running mate.

“President Trump calls me an ultra-left radical. I’m so liberal that his camp asked me to be his running mate. I respectfully declined the offer,” Kennedy Jr. wrote. and continued:

“I’m against President Trump, and President Biden can’t win. From his new website, it looks like President Trump knows who can actually beat him.”

The Trump camp has not confirmed the claims. Trump has also not launched his vice-presidential candidate yet.

“Left radical”, vaccine opponent and environmental activist

Earlier, Trump had shared a video on his social medium Truth Social, in which he stated that RFK Jr. (Robert F. Kennedy Jr., jour. note) was the “most left-wing radical candidate”.

– If “radical” means protecting our constitutional rights, especially free speech, ending the war machine, allowing small businesses to grow, rebuilding the middle class, and reducing the national debt, then we are proudly “radicals” as Trump describes, Kennedy Jr.’s replied press secretary Stefanie Spear to Newsweek in response to the statements at the time.

Kennedy has been an outspoken environmental activist, and has had clean water as one of his core issues. But during the pandemic, his activism turned into something conspiratorial, and this has made Kennedy Jr. somewhat controversial.

Among other things, he has founded the anti-vaccine group Children’s Health Defense, which is working on a lawsuit against a number of news organizations, including AP, for disinformation about covid-19 and the vaccine, according to NTB.
