At the weekend, actor Ricard Dean Anderson (74) appeared at the German Film & Comic Con festival in the German city of Dortmund.

He was a major TV star in the 1980s and 90s for his roles in “MacGyver” and “Stargate.” He starred in the former series, as Angus MacGyver. The TV series is still popular across large parts of the world.

In 2013, Anderson retired from the limelight, and today lives a secluded life.

The fans were therefore ecstatic about the TV star’s attendance. He was available for interviews, photos and signed autographs.

New pictures

On the festival’s official Instagram page you can see photos of Anderson, where you can see that he is apparently in good shape, and has grown a gray mane.

– What a beautiful day, write the organizers in Dortmund in the Instagram post.

They also show pictures of the action hero with happy fans. Even 32 years after his legendary 80s role, he still has hero status.

From 1985 to 1992, he starred for seven seasons as the resourceful MacGyver. The character was able to get out of any seemingly hopeless situation, thanks to clever tricks.

– Had no life

Anderson played the secret agent in 139 episodes over the seven years, and has said afterwards that it took its toll on him.

– “MacGyver” was seven years in which I was in absolutely every single scene in the TV series, and I had no life at all, Anderson himself is said to have stated after the series ended in 1992.

In 2015, it became known that CBS would make a comeback with a new version of the successful series, where the role of Angus MacGyver was played by actor Lucas Daniel Till (29).

The new version of the TV series was nowhere near as popular as the original, but lasted for five seasons before being cancelled.
