Here’s everything that’s coming in the big update to “Starfield” this month

--

(PressFire.no): Bethesda has revealed the next major update to “Starfield” which will arrive in just a couple of weeks.

The most immediate change is that the maps on the various planets have been completely overhauled and actually look usable this time around.

New maps!

The game also gets a new “extreme” difficulty level, and you will now be able to set parameters and difficulty level individually for parts of the game.

For example, you will be able to decide whether you will gain health when you sleep, turn up or down the damage you take, how much money merchants have, how much you can carry and the like.

All of this will affect how many experience points you earn.

A mysterious choice in the menus that is not explained is “sustenance”, nutrition, which could hint that with this turned on you might starve or be thirsty to death?

More freedom of choice.

You also get to decorate the inside of your ships, where you can now also choose ship parts that are completely empty so that you can arrange the insides yourself.

On Xbox Series X, the game will get new modes for the graphics, where people can now choose between 30, 40 and 60 frames per second.

You will also be able to choose to drop the zooming that happens when you talk to someone.

No more the classic Bethesda zoom.

Some small changes to the way the game displays your inventory are also coming, with better options for sorting.

Bethesda also talked a bit about what is happening beyond the May update. For example, players will eventually gain access to a car that can be driven around the planets, and new quests are being worked on – in addition to the additional package “Shattered Space” coming later this year.

The Creation Engine, which is the modding tool for the game, has also been sent out to modders for beta testing, Bethesda could reveal.

You can see more about the various updates coming on 15 May to Xbox and PC in the video below. For those impatient, the update is already out on Steam Beta!
