Although layoff notices have become less frequent in the past month, we’re still in the middle of a year where thousands upon thousands of gaming industry workers have lost their jobs. While KeokeN Interactive was already forced to make layoffs to stem the financial bleeding, the developer has now announced that they have been forced to lay off the rest of their team as well.

In a post on X, KeokeN’s Koen and Paul Deetman said that after failing to generate publishing, work-for-hire or co-development options at GDC recently, the company has had to let go of the rest of its staff.

CEO Koen Deetman comments on the decision: “Paul and I are badly beaten, but far from beaten. It is our personal mission to rebuild KeokeN stone by stone, as we have done before, in the name of our employees and to carry on the legacy of our games.”

In the spirit of this, a plan has been announced to create and set up a Kickstarter, which will help the developer generate the necessary funding that will be needed to create Deliver Us Home, the third part of the Deliver Us series, a “games we want to build for you and with you” as Deetmans adds.
