Tomas and his partner Stine Oldervik will become parents within a few months.

Tomas Northug is the brother of Petter (28) and Even (28). The two latter are both still active skiers, the latter even on the national team.
Tomas Northug was himself part of the national cross-country team for several years and has one World Cup victory. In 2015, he made it to the sprint final in the WC in Falun, where he finished in 6th place. He retired as an active cross-country runner in 2017.
This winter he made a competitive comeback when he took silver in the National Championships in dog sledding.
