HAUGESUND-KFUM OSLO 0–1

Newly promoted KFUM Oslo took their second straight away win with three points against Haugesund. A weak pass by national team goalkeeper Egil Selvik gave Johannes Nunez the opportunity to send the away team into the lead before the break.

The one goal was also the only one and ensured three new points for YMCA.

– The game suggests that there is no luck. They match opponents and score points, say Jesper Mathisen and Simen Stamsø Møller on TV 2’s FotballXtra.

The newly promoted capital club thus climbed up to 6th place after their second straight away win. The previous away match ended in a 2-0 triumph over Sarpsborg.

The hosts had a terribly difficult start to the match when Claus Niyukuri had to leave with an injury after just 17 minutes. 17-year-old Mikkel Hope was admitted.

There was no better atmosphere either when national team goalkeeper Egil Selvik sent the ball straight into the legs of Johannes Hummelvoll Nuñez, who could easily lob the visitors into the lead just before the break.

– It is a completely hopeless choice. Talk about just serving the ball to Nuñez. They are punished in an excellent way by the “Kåffa” striker, said Jesper Mathiesen in TV 2’s FotballXtra studio.

– A bad feeling

After Sunday’s loss, Haugesund has only six points after as many games. All the points have meanwhile come away from home.

– It’s a bad feeling. I’ll be the first to admit that. I don’t think we deserved to lose this match, said FKH coach Oskar Hrafn Thorvaldsson to TV 2.

The Icelander denies that Selvik’s blunder happened because of an over-ambitious style of play.

– It is about making good and correct decisions. When we have bad time, we make bad decisions. This time we were punished. It was unfortunate that the goal came just before half-time, he said.

Back

Emil Ødegaard was back in the YMCA cage after he was hit hard by Bård Finne’s knobs in the previous league match. The final defender had to leave the field after just 27 minutes and was taken straight to the emergency room, where his head was patched up with ten stitches. He thus had to sit out the cup match against Sogndal in midweek.

YMCA progressed in the cup when they won away to Sogndal after a penalty shootout. On Wednesday, Lysekloster awaits away in the next round of the cup, before Fredrikstad comes to visit next weekend.

Haugesund, on the other hand, is out of the cup and has a week to train before they travel to HamKam next Sunday.
