“What happens to Oscar Kapskarmo? Doesn’t seem as dangerous as last year. Will there be a new striker this summer to compete with Høgh?’

– I don’t think there will be any new striker this summer. I completely agree with Kapskarmo. What we were waiting for last autumn after the transfer from Junkeren, that he would get the training routine in the middle of his face and become a bit heavy and tough, that period I feel he has now. It’s not the same spark in him as it was, answers AN journalist and Glimt expert, Stian Høgland.
The reason why Glimt does not bring in a new striker this summer is as follows:
– I think Glimt has a hope that Runar Espejord will be ready from the first game after the holiday, and that he will put pressure on Kasper Høgh. They also have great hope that Kasper Høgh will be the sunny one who stands for 90 minutes on Wednesday, Sunday, Wednesday, Sunday.
Expert colleague Trond Olsen, for his part, leans more towards new signings this summer.
– It’s because they need someone who shakes, bothers and makes Høgh feel the pressure a little. Unfortunately, you can’t trust Espejord with the body he has. That is the point of appeal. He has come back from injury, only to be injured again. It has been his review melody in Bodø/Glimt.
– Throughout his career, Høgland chimes in.
– Yes. He is a good player when he gets fit and can be injury-free for a while. Unfortunately, it happens all too often that it falls back on new injuries. He is probably only out of contract this year as well. I don’t see it as unnatural that there will be a new striker this summer, says Olsen.
And as many know, summer will be special. Then Glimt will again try to qualify for the Champions League. If there is no championship game, it will probably be the Europa League or the Conference League. Therefore, Olsen believes it will be particularly important to bring in reinforcements.
– It can be very important. You can end up only standing with Kasper Høgh and Oscar Kapskarmo. Kapskarmo has not looked sharp in the matches he has had. I don’t think he was very good against Brønnøysund or Junkeren. These are his opportunities to show off. When he doesn’t take care of them then…
– I think he had a very good start against Rosenborg. He will get that. But I completely agree with Trond otherwise., says Høgland.
