Glimt, 1st division women | Magnificent scoring ensured victory

--

On Sunday, Glimt traveled to Trøndelag to play round number six in the series, with five straight victories the team of Cato Hansen and Stian Theting looked to continue the winning streak.

There they met a KIL/Hemne team that has not had such a terrific start to the season.

Goal

After 25 tame minutes, Glimt decided to turn on the switch.

The team from the north managed to build up an attack which ended with Kristina Brudvik putting a pass through to Sara Berg who had pulled up in the field. Berg made no mistake when she ended up alone with the keeper and scored Glimt’s first goal of the day.

A stunned KIL/Hemne didn’t have much to contend with when Anna Johansen took the ball from near the midfield and showed the great individual skills she has with the ball: After pulling away from the opponent, Johansen shoveled the ball into the goal and increased the lead to 2-0 after 28 minutes played.

Glimt went into the break with a 2-0 lead after a very effective half, where they scored two goals after two chances.

The second half started with a KIL/Hemne team that went straight to attack and got a solid opportunity after a minute into the second half, a magnificent save by goalkeeper Aubrei Corder meant that the away team still led by two goals.

A fresher KIL/Hemne team in the second half failed to outwit Glimt and lost 2-0 at home.

Glimt is now at the top of the table with six wins out of six.

The next game is the game for the north where they meet Tromsø, 12 May at Aspmyra.
