A police operation is underway against a home in the Dalane region, in the far south of Rogaland county.

The background is that threats were called in against the police on the night of Sunday, linked to the address in question, says operations manager Irene Ragnhildstveit in a message to the press at 4.15pm.

They have control over two people, but no one has been formally arrested. It has been decided to search the home.

– The people involved are well known to the police from before and we have therefore chosen to take the necessary precautions to control those who may be at the address, before starting a search, says the operations manager.

Earlier on Sunday, she said that there should be no danger to outsiders, that the police are armed and have control of the situation.

To Stavanger Aftenblad, the operations manager says that they cannot ignore the fact that those involved are in possession of weapons, and that the police are therefore armed at the scene.

The newspaper, which quotes witnesses, describes a large police presence with several patrol cars and armed police forces.

Operations manager Steinar Knudsen tells VG that one person is injured, but not critically.
