Two former leaders of the criminal gang Young Guns were shot in the open on the night of Sunday, 15 January 2023, right next to the National Theatre, in the center of Oslo.

Both survived.

Earlier there had been a situation at a night club.

Now two men have been convicted of attempted murder.

A 24-year-old man has been sentenced to prison for 11 years for two attempted murders, aggravated robbery of a car and breach of the Weapons Act.

In connection with the sentencing, the Oslo District Court writes that the attempted murders are responsible for the punishment.

A 22-year-old has been sentenced to five years in prison for attempted murder and aggravated robbery of a car.

Gang settlement

The two convicts are associated with the MC club Satudarah and the two offended the criminal gang Young Guns.

The shooting itself is said to have been the result of a fight, where one of the convicts had a gun with him.

Both of the two men who were shot have previously been convicted a number of times for serious matters. Both have also been involved in previous shooting incidents.

On 15 January 2023, there will be a shooting at the National Theater in the open. Two people are injured but survive. The accused flee the country but are returned.

I think he had a gun to defend himself

According to Dagbladet, the man explained in court in April that he had the weapon because of previous violence he had been exposed to and to defend himself.

The 24-year-old man admitted partial guilt in court, but claims he did not shoot to kill. The 22-year-old has pleaded not guilty after the incident.

According to what NRK learns, the two are connected to the MC club Satudarah.

When the case was before the court, the 24-year-old pleaded guilty in part, while the 22-year-old pleaded not guilty.

– Satisfied with the verdict

The verdict means that the prosecution has essentially been granted what it requested in court.

– So we are satisfied with the verdict as it has been penned, says state attorney Irlin Irgens.

She believes that the court highlights well the points which mean that the punishments must be at the level they do.

– The seriousness of this and that of shooting in a public place in the way that happened here. It is a very serious act, says Irgens.

The two convicts were previously extradited from Italy, where they had escaped after the shooting.

Considering appealing

Lawyer Ole Petter Drevland is defending the 22-year-old who has been sentenced to five years in prison.

In addition to being charged with attempted murder, he was charged with stealing a car.

He has now been convicted of both counts.

– It is contrary to his attitude to questions of guilt, so we must definitely consider appealing this, says Drevland.

Escaped to Italy

After the shooting in January last year, the two men who have now been convicted fled to Italy.

They were in accommodation at the railway station in central Milan when they were caught, a spokesman for the police in Milan previously told Dagbladet.

And a short time later they were extradited to Norway.
