Unsafe, difficult or completely…wonderful? Now you, who regularly cycle in Kristiansand, can let your voice be heard about how the provision for cycling is, and how it can be improved.

Behind the initiative is the Cyclist Association, which has launched a nationwide survey, the Cycle Survey, where the aim is to compare how cyclists experience the municipalities they cycle in from a user perspective. Kristiansand municipality cooperates by spreading the survey.

Kristiansand municipality needs at least 100 people to share their views. The municipality then receives a separate, detailed insight report, and takes part in the comparison and ranking of Norway’s best cycling municipalities from the cyclists’ point of view.

In September, we will get an answer to whether Kristiansand is better or worse for cycling than the neighboring municipalities – according to the cyclists themselves.

– We see that there is a great interest in cycling in Norway. Many people want to cycle because it is a simple, sustainable and fast means of transport on short journeys. Every person who cycles in everyday life saves society a lot of money in health benefits. By listening to the cyclists, the municipalities can learn important lessons about what is needed to get them to continue cycling, says Eline Oftedal, secretary general of the Cyclist Association.
