– I tested padel about three years ago, and have since played regularly, says Aardahl.

A sport for everyone

The 39-year-old mostly plays in Halden, either inside Halden Padelsenter or on one of the outdoor courts at Berg Stadium. He has really been bitten by the bug, and also plays a lot in Sarpsborg and Fredrikstad – as well as tournaments in other cities.

– Padel is a sport for everyone, regardless of age and level, he says.

Ketil Aardahl himself took a number of private lessons in the beginning to learn basic engineering.

– The earlier you work in the right technique, the less time you have to spend on putting away habits at a later stage. Correct technique is also important in terms of reducing the risk of injury, such as strain injuries.

Aardahl has now taken coaching training in Gothenburg at the Prio Academy.

He is already a children’s and youth coach for Halden Padelklubb, and now wants to expand the coaching staff.

Volume training and detail terping

– Padel is a sport that is growing incredibly fast, and the padel club has gone from 30 to 120 members in the past year.

Aardahl wants to offer protimes to beginners who want to start right, as well as to more established players who want to take their game further.

The classes will be held at Berg, and Aardahl also has a good collaboration with Berg IL.

The advantage of taking pro-timers is to be able to repeat the different strokes, and get quantity training.

– In a normal game situation, you might get to test those strokes 10-15 times, while in training you can repeat and try 100-150 times.

The pro hours are for 1-2 people, and can be booked by contacting Ketil Aardahl directly.
