The summer clothes you dusted off this week probably need to be neatly put back. For now, the summer heat is over, according to on-duty meteorologist Roar Teigen at Storm Geo.

Going forward, there will be more fluctuating temperatures and periods of rainfall across the country. But the meteorologist has one piece of good news:

– It looks like the weather on May 17 can be good for most of the country.

Temperatures slightly above normal on 17 May

The children’s train marched under blue skies in Oslo last year.

On Sunday, Storm reports on its website that it will be 18 degrees and sunny in Oslo on 17 May, but despite this, neither the meteorologist at Storm Geo nor the Meteorological Institute will answer whether it will actually be sunny this year.

It will be 18 degrees and sunny on 17 May, according to Storm.no's online forecast. The meteorologists say the forecasts are very uncertain.

– You probably have to wait four or five days before we can start to suggest anything, says Teigen at Storm Geo.

But both in Oslo and in Bergen it may seem to be a little warmer than normal – this particular day.

– With a bit of luck, it can actually be quite warm, says on-duty meteorologist Jon Austerheim at the Meteorological Institute.

The normal temperature in these cities is between eight and fifteen degrees Celsius, says Austerheim. The forecasts for 17 May indicate that it will be slightly warmer than that in Oslo and Bergen.

In Trondheim, on the other hand, the temperature seems to be lower around 17 May, but there is great uncertainty connected to the forecasts, the meteorologists point out.

Northern Norway: – Relatively cool compared to the time of year

As for the week ahead, it looks like the weather will be more stable towards next weekend, in the southern parts of the country.

In the northernmost parts of the country, however, there are still winter temperatures and snow showers, and there is no great heat in sight either.

The meteorologists will still not answer who is most unlucky on 17 May.

– But in northern Norway it is relatively cool compared to the time of year, concludes Teigen at Storm Geo.
