This week has offered sun and summer weather in several places in the country.
On Thursday, Western Norway was the warmest part of the country and Westerners could enjoy well over 20 degrees in the sunshine.
The highest temperature was measured in Austevoll in Ytre Midthordland, where the thermometer crept to 25 degrees.
Bergen Florida came close at 24.5 degrees, explains meteorologist on duty at the Meteorological Institute, Julie Solsvik Vågane to Dagbladet.
Sounding the alarm about a record summer
Big differences
Several areas have felt the heat this week. On Tuesday, the meteorologists at X reported an expected temperature rise towards the weekend, with warnings of over 18 degrees in parts of the region.
– It has been warm and lovely over large parts of the country today. Both Southern Norway and Eastern Norway have had temperatures above 20 degrees, says Vågane.
Also in Trøndelag, the mercury has reached around 20 degrees, while the northernmost parts of the country have had cooler weather, with maximum temperatures below 10 degrees.
In Finnmark, the temperatures are not quite so summery. Reinhaugen, north of Nesseby, recorded the lowest temperature in Norway, with a wintry minus 5.5 degrees.

– The warm weather will continue for the next few days. Friday and part of Saturday will still offer high temperatures, before a cooler air mass and low pressure activity from the south lead to cooler days, explains Vågane.
Western Norway will continue to dominate the top of the temperature charts, with a predicted maximum temperature of 25 degrees on Friday, while Saturday temperatures will be closer to 20 degrees.
On Sunday, however, it looks like it will be somewhat cooler again.
