On Saturday evening, the Grieghallen in Bergen was decorated for a magnificent party, as the stage was set for this year’s Gullruten.

Several famous faces were self-proclaimed guests during the lavish award ceremony, and Bergen’s former mayor Trude Drevland (76) was among them.

In May last year, Drevland received the discouraging news that she had been diagnosed with bladder cancer. She has previously said that the diagnosis was a huge upheaval.

In front of Se og Hør, Drevland told Gullruten that it was going well and that she was ready for a real party.

Just two days before the awards, the 76-year-old shared a post on Instagram, where she wrote: “A little help with 22 degrees! But only a little.”

On Gullruten, she explained to TV 2 what she meant by that.

– It’s about what messages you get. Then it’s about them delaying the proper message. Then you just have to wait again. I’m fine, me. Driving on! I can live, the others can treat, and then we do it separately, she said.

Furthermore, she said that everyday life is now characterized by waiting and not knowing.

– But I’m going to die with what I have, and not die of it, so I can’t complain. It’s not possible. There are many who have it much, much worse.

She pointed out that she is doing well and that she is enjoying every single day.
