People have little to spare for the words Jennifer Lawrence shares about her friend.
Amy Schumer covers this month’s edition of Variety, which has been titled “Power of Women”.
Not only do more people react to the industry magazine allowing the comedian to adorn such a front page, many also do not think anything of the quote that her friend Jennifer Lawrence provides for the article.
The criticism directed at Amy Schumer comes as a result of the many statements she has shared regarding Israel/Palestine.
Based on what she shares on Instagram, it is quite clear where the 42-year-old stands.
Among other things, several have reacted to the way she expresses herself on social media.
Including Bernice King, the daughter of Martin Luther King Jr., and actress Asia Jackson.
“It’s so sick to me how Bella & Gigi have to go toe-to-toe in their statements also Amy Schumer can say things like: ‘People from Gaza are rapists’ and still have a career,” the latter wrote on X about one of the many posts Trainwreck– the actor has shared.

In the new issue of Variety, however, the actress says that she does not support what the Israeli government is doing.
– I do not agree with any of what Netanyahu is doing, and neither do any Israelis I know. Of course What is happening in Gaza is sickening, horrific and unimaginable. AndI don’t think it’s OK to hate someone just because they were born Jewish, says Amy to the industry magazine.
However, many believe that this contradicts what she has shared on social media.
Therefore, several people react to the fact that she, of all people, gets to be on the cover of an issue that pays tribute to powerful women.
One person who can appreciate that the actress dares to express her opinions, despite criticism, is her good friend Jennifer Lawrence.
– Amy’s choice to use her voice and speak out for justice places her in the middle of the heat. I wouldn’t say that she necessarily navigates it, but rather that she raises her middle fingers and walks away from negative comments like there’s a gas station on fire in a Michael Bay movie, Jennifer says of her friend to Variety.
And with that she herself pours petrol on the burning gas station the burning fire.
The quote, especially the part about justice, does not sit well with most people on the big internet.
Among other things, many are quick to point out what they see as hypocritical.
This is because Jennifer Lawrence’s breakthrough was the role of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games – the girl who led a revolution against a regime that killed children and bombed districts into ruins.
If you look up the name of the 33-year-old on X, you are largely met with posts that shake your head and find it all very disappointing.
